September in the Keystone State's Capital City

September Arts Excitement in Harrisburg

There's a lot of artistic excitement going around the 'burg this month, happening now: a huge city-wide mural celebration-- midtown alone put up a large group of colorful new murals recently.

Three fine additions popped up on Third Street's "cultural corridor" and, as well, there's a brand new gallery opening this week-end: The Hertrich Art gallery at 1421 N. Third, right next to Dalicia.

Carla Christopher, a fine York writer, will be featured at the Poetry Cartel's August 26 gig. And the beat goes on, the annual poet's cruise, on the Pride of the Susquehanna, is scheduled, October 1.

Poetry is shared at the Midtown Scholar Bookstore, every Thursday, read your work aloud or listen up, enjoy. The reading series is hosted by the Almost Uptown Poetry Cartel, right across from the Market House. Big marquee: MIDTOWN.
1302 N. 3rd St. 17102. 7-- 9pm. (717) 236-1680.
